21 Day Challenge

I wanted to be obedient, I just needed a plan. Being a teacher, I went to some of the strategies I have used with my own students. Research has shown that we form habits after 21 days. When I want one of my students with special needs to learn a new habit or routine, I make a checklist and make sure they complete the task every day for 21 days. Guess what? It works 9 out of 10 times!  So, I tried it on myself and even though the first week was hard, the second week was easier and by the third week it was a part of my day that I didn't forget. The key is making yourself everyday for three week! I promise after the third week, it becomes as natural setting your alarm before going to bed. I put an alarm on my phone to remind me. It is easier for me to get up a few minutes early before my world wakes and starts their day!  When my crew wakes up, there is no me time! lol  You, on the other hand might find it easier at lunch or before bed time. If I wait until bed time, never knowing what time that will be, I get tired and will more than likely fall asleep. Yes, I am a sinner who has fallen asleep reading my bible and praying. I said I had been called to tell you what God has done in my life, I never said my perfect life! Y'all, I am a hot mess and only here by the grace of God! lol Enough about myself, there is no perfect time, just do it!  Please let me know how it goes.

I used the following questions and just bought a cheap journal or spiral notebook, and put one day on every page,  to keep my self accountable.

  1. Date:

  2. Time:

  3. Verses read:

  4. What God said to me through His word:

  5. Prayer focus for today:

Good Luck!
