Fresh Mercies for a New Morning

Scripture:

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22–23

A new year rolls in a little like a quiet Kentucky morning, cool air, fresh hope, and the promise of what’s ahead. We may step into it carrying prayers for our families, worries we don’t always say out loud, and hopes we’ve been holding onto for a long time. The good news is this: God meets us right where we are, just as we are.

He doesn’t ask us to have the whole year planned out. He simply asks us to trust Him with today. When we wake up and put our feet on the floor, His mercy is already waiting. Whether life feels busy, heavy, or beautifully simple, the Lord walks with us through every moment, steady and faithful.

Some days we’ll feel strong, and other days we’ll just do our best to keep going. Either way, God is near. His grace covers the mistakes, His peace calms our hearts, and His love carries us forward.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for this new year and for Your mercy that greets me each morning. I place my home, my family, and my heart in Your hands. Help me to walk humbly with You, trust You in every season, and rest in the peace only You can give. Lead me one day at a time. Amen.

21 Day Challenge

They say it takes about 15 days to start forming a habit, so here’s a simple challenge as we begin this year: commit to reading your Bible for 21 days. It doesn’t have to be long, just intentional. Each day you open His Word, you’ll find yourself growing closer to God, learning to hear His voice more clearly, and resting more fully in His peace.

Start small. Stay faithful. One day with God changes everything.

Day 1 - Read Psalm 1

As we begin this journey, remember that a life rooted in God’s Word is steady and blessed. When we choose Him daily, He shapes our path and strengthens our heart.
