It’s funny how I analyze things. I can’t make a decision without analyzing every part, every possible outcome has to be taken into consideration, and not just for the effects of today, but tomorrow and next month, next year. I can make a plan, I can make an agenda and oh can I fill out that daily planner. I spend so much time planning. I go to bed at night and my mind plans for hours I get up and the checklist starts, I love being able to check that box and draw a line through it. I mean I am a mom, wife, daughter, busy educator and church member. It is vital I plan and stay on top
of things right? Well, the question is do I get it all done? Yes! I am determined to check it all off! There’s nothing like laying my head on that pillow at night knowing the list is done, the plan is now the past, I did it!!! But what did I do? Lol I don’t remember! I mean I am so busy, I can’t tell you when I last went to the potty or put something in my mouth, other than coffee (I drink coffee all day long). The question God ask me this morning while in His word made me stop thinking and just listen. I am devoted to God and everyday I make plans that are God centered. I plan the “good deeds” , I read my Bible, I go to church, I pray and I even listen to my “Jesus music” as complete those daily plans. The problem is I spend my day checking off the boxes and drawing a line through the items racing to finish the task and forget to commit those actions to the Lord. My focus is on the finish, not the journey. Guess what? The journey ais where we learn, we grow in our relationship with Christ. The Journey is our story. If all we do is make listss and check them off, our story will be short and very boring. The Journey doesn’t teach us anything if we don’t remember how I got to the destination. Our focus needs to be on the task and how we complete each task, then when all the boxes are checked, our story will be beautiful, and we will truly succeed. So this week I am going to plan a little differently. I am going to focus on each task and follow Gods lead. Take time to listen to God in every situation and follow Him every step of of the day. When I lay my head down I can focus on well done.
Commit your actions to the Lord and your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16:3
