Ephesians 6:10–18
“Stand firm in faith. God has equipped you with everything you need.”
Some days, standing firm doesn’t look heroic. It looks like getting out of bed when you’d rather stay under the covers. It looks like holding your tongue, saying another prayer, or choosing not to spiral when things don’t go as planned.
Life has a way of hitting us from all angles. Stress, insecurity, fear, comparison, exhaustion, sometimes it feels like too much all at once. That’s why Ephesians reminds us to “be strong in the Lord” (6:10), not strong in ourselves. Not strong because we have it all together. Strong because God does.
God knows we’re walking into real battles every day, even the quiet ones no one else sees. So He doesn’t leave us unarmed. He gives us truth when lies start getting loud. He gives us peace when anxiety tries to run the show. He gives us faith when doubt creeps in and starts asking too many questions. He gives us His Word when we don’t know what else to say (6:14–17).
Standing firm doesn’t mean you never feel shaken. It means you don’t give up. It means you keep showing up, even tired, even unsure, trusting that God has already equipped you for this season, whether it feels like it or not.
And prayer? That’s not a “nice extra.” That’s how we stay connected, grounded, and breathing through it all (6:18). Sometimes prayer is bold. Sometimes it’s just, “God, help.” And that counts.
So if today feels heavy, remember this: you’re not underqualified or behind. You’re covered. You’re equipped. You’re stronger than you feel, not because of you, but because God is with you.
Stand firm. One step, one prayer, one moment at a time.
Prayer: God, I’m tired, and You already know that. Help me stand firm today, even when I feel unsure. Remind me that You’ve given me everything I need, and help me lean on You instead of trying to do it all myself. Amen.
